Tutorials

Tutorial_Slider.jpg

The RMS runs a number of tutorials throughout the year for members and these are a key member benefit. These include skills-based tutorials such as suturing, plaster cast application, mock OSCEs and venepuncture, as well as academic tutorials in advance of exams to assist with revision.

The practical skills tutorials are led by junior doctors, usually FY1 and FY2 doctors who are alumni of the university. These fun events offer younger students a chance to try out clinical skills before they are formally taught, and give older peers a valuable opportunity to practise.

Our academic tutorials are peer-led, with older students teaching groups of students from the younger years. These revision sessions are hugely popular and cover the first, second and fourth year modules in the weeks leading up to exams. If you are interested in teaching at any of these tutorials, please contact our tutorial convenor.

Our tutorials traditionally include:

- Venepuncture

- Plastering

- Exam revision

- Intercalation
